Helbling develops lighting demonstrator for interiors
Zurich - The Zurich-based engineering and consulting company Helbling has developed a device to show the possibilities of the lighting standard Intelligent Smart Embedded LED (ISELED). The demonstrator allows Helbling to test different scenarios for customers and to implement them cost-effectively.

Maersk chooses Verity drones for warehouse inventory
Zurich/Florham Park - A. P. Møller Maersk is turning to flying drones from Verity to manage inventory counts in its warehouse network. After a six-month trial run at four Maersk North America sites, the plan now is to install drones in all the containership giant’s warehouses that have pallet storage.
WinGD collaborating on the development of a large-scale ammonia engine
Winterthur/Antwerp - Winterthur Gas & Diesel Ltd (WinGD) is partnering with the Belgian shipping and cleantech group CMB.TECH to develop a two-stroke engine powered by ammonia. In total, ten bulk carriers are to be constructed and equipped at a Chinese shipyard in 2025 and 2026.

IRB discovers antibodies to combat future coronavirus variants
Bellinzona - At the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB), researchers have discovered 15 regions of the coronavirus that do not mutate. In addition, rare antibodies against precisely these “coldspots” were found in convalescent patients. This could facilitate the development of therapies against existing and future variants.

Zurich/Lausanne/Geneva - A broadly based team of Swiss researchers has been able to diagnose with much greater certainty the rare and incurable disease MMA after carrying out innovative research in this area. The disease affects one in every 90,000 newborn babies, who often do not survive past childhood.
Leonardo tests AW09 helicopter in Mollis
Mollis/Samarate - The Italian company Leonardo will keep its location in Mollis in the Greater Zurich Area after acquiring the helicopter company Kopter based there. It plans to use this site to test a new motor in the AW09 helicopters originally developed by Kopter.
Swiss venture capital market continues upward trend
Lucerne/Rotkreuz/Zurich - The Swiss venture capital market has recorded a record high once more for 2022. This is the result of the latest Swiss Venture Capital Report. ICT and cleantech startups attracted the most capital. More than half of all investments went to the canton of Zurich, followed by the canton of Vaud in second place.
