SIX reports success following digital currency transfer experiment
Zürich/Paris – The first experiment involving a transfer of central bank digital currency in Europe has been successful. The transaction was carried out between banks based in Switzerland and France. The parties involved included SIX, the Bank for International Settlements, the Swiss National Bank and Banque de France.
BCG purchases Climeworks’ CO2 capture service
Zurich/Boston - Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has signed a ten-year agreement for Climeworks to capture some of the unavoidable CO2 emissions it makes from the air and permanently store this underground. BCG will additionally support the company with scaling up its business model worldwide.

Swiss Federal Railway invests CHF 460 million in new Ticino plant
Bern/Arbedo-Castione TI - SBB intends to spend around 460 million francs on its new plant in Arbedo-Castione. The canton and the city of Bellinzona are contributing a further 120 million francs. Around 440 new jobs will be created as a result. The plant will go into operation in 2027.
Synpulse and Thought Machine collaborating
Hergiswil NW/Zurich/London - Global corporate consulting firm Synpulse has entered into partnership with fintech unicorn Thought Machine from the UK. In this collaboration, Synpulse will act as a strategic sales partner for the core bank platform Vault from Thought Machine.

Zurich/London - The globally operating British group FNZ has agreed a takeover deal for Appway. The cloud solutions of the multinational FinTech firm are used to automate the working processes of financial institutions and asset management firms of all sizes.
Holcim building 3D-printed settlement
Zug - Holcim has announced its intention to construct a residential complex of 3D-printed houses in Kenya. The project will comprise 52 houses in total and is the largest of its kind in Africa. The aim is to accelerate the breakthrough of 3D-printing for affordable housing applications.
Sunrise facilitating maintenance via Augmented Reality
Opfikon ZH - Sunrise is aiming to make machine maintenance easier. To achieve this, 5G capabilities and an Augmented Reality solution developed by the start-up OverIT will be used. The solution can be tested in the Joint Innovation Center operated by Sunrise and Huawei.

Schlieren ZH - The biotechnology firm Molecular Partners from the Greater Zurich Area has agreed a research cooperation with the University of Bern. The novel immunotherapy candidate MP0533 to combat acute myeloid leukemia will now be further developed.
