Zurich is the world’s second-best location for fintechs
Rotkreuz - Zurich has once again been named as the region offering the second-best framework conditions for fintech enterprises around the world. This finding is based on this year’s fintech study carried out by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Following a decline in 2021, the Swiss fintech sector recorded growth of 14 percent again last year.
UZH and Kyoto University agree to deepen ties

Dübendorf - A testing arena for autonomous drones is being set up in hangar 9 on the former grounds of Dübendorf Air Base. Over the long term, a certification site for commercial drones will be established. Three universities are involved in project LINA.
Fixposition sensor to be used in the USA
Schlieren/South San Francisco - The Californian company Agtonomy is integrating Fixposition technology for precise localization in its TeleFarmer solution. This technology from the Greater Zurich Area enables improved global positioning of autonomous and remotely operated agricultural vehicles.
Dagsmejan is the fastest-growing Swiss company
Zurich - Dagsmejan is the only Swiss company to be included in the list of Europe’s 50 fastest-growing companies compiled by the Financial Times. In the latest annual FT 1000 ranking, Visium is placed at number 72, while Unit8, Beliani, Catalyx and Seven Sundays all rank somewhere in the middle.
Leonardo bringing AW09 helicopter to the USA
Mollis/Rome/Shreveport - The Italian company Leonardo has found a partner to support the market introduction and positioning of its single-engine AW09 helicopter in the USA. The model was developed by Kopter in the canton of Glarus. Kopter was taken over by Leonardo in 2020.
