Zurich - Researchers at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich have found a way to simulate highly turbulent flows. To do so, they used new theoretical approaches as well as the Piz Daint supercomputer.

Lausanne/Singapur - Zurich has topped the global IMD Smart City Index 2023 for the fourth consecutive time. The ranking uses diverse criteria to measure how smart a city is according to its citizens. Of the 141 cities surveyed, Lausanne scooped 5th and Geneva 9th place.

Solothurn/Grenchen - The Solothurn-based plant manufacturer Infotech will start building its new headquarters in Grenchen on April 5. The high-tech firm is set to more than double its office and assembly space at the new site. The sustainable building is being constructed by SSM Architects from Solothurn.

Schlieren - Cutiss has presented the results of two studies investigating its skin substitute product denovoSkin. The safety of the product was demonstrated in the Phase 1 trial in children, while efficacy was the focus of the clinical Phase 2 trial.

The biotechnology firm will put this fresh capital towards the commercialization of its technology for 3D microtissues and will seek to establish the world’s largest biobank for pharmaceutical research.

Zurich - Researchers from the University of Zurich (UZH) have developed an innovative objective for light microscopy. Instead of several lenses, it uses a mirror and a single corrective lens. This objective is more cost-effective and can be more widely used than conventional equivalents.
