Egerkingen SO – Omya International will be moving its research and development activities to Egerkingen. To this end, the producer of industrial minerals has bought the Galderma-Spirig site. It also intends to acquire the Cosmospheres business unit from Spirig Pharma.
Climeworks removes CO2 from the air
Zurich – Greater Zurich Area startup Climeworks has developed a technology that can filter CO2 from the air. It is then stored underground or reused in other ways. Its technology is currently being tested in three countries and will soon be launched on the market.
Researchers correct genetic mutation
Zurich – A team of researchers from ETH Zurich and the University Children’s Hospital Zurich have succeeding in healing mice suffering from a metabolic disorder caused by a genetic mutation. Their approach could one day be used in humans.
