Blackstone Technology wins Green Product Award 2022
Baar - Blackstone Technology, the wholly owned subsidiary of Blackstone Resources AG, has won the Green Product Award 2022. The jury ultimately judged in favor of Blackstone’s 3D-printed lithium-ion batteries that offer 20 percent higher energy density. The product emerged victorious against 1,500 competitor submissions from 54 different countries.
Drone capable of diving, flying and hitching a ride
Dübendorf/London/Beijing - A team of scientists from Empa has developed a robot alongside colleagues from London and Beijing that can switch from an underwater drone to an aerial vehicle practically in the blink of an eye. Moreover, it is also able to hitch a ride on a whale or ship, for example, in order to save energy.
Wyss Zurich receives donation of 100 million Swiss francs
Zurich - The Swiss businessman Hansjörg Wyss has donated a further 100 million Swiss francs to the Wyss Zurich Translational Center. Following an initial donation in 2014, the joint UZH and ETH center’s work supporting startups in the fields of medicine and robotics is secured for the next few years.
Planted doubles production
Kemptthal - Planted has invested in the expansion and modernization of its production site in the Greater Zurich Area. The plant-based meat substitute manufacturer is increasing the factory’s capacity from 500 kilograms to more than 1 metric ton per hour. More office buildings and research laboratories are being planned.
