Zurich/Exton - The startup Teralytics from the Greater Zurich Area is acquiring the mobility data business of American company Bentley Systems. Bentley Systems is also investing in Teralytics. Teralytics plans to strengthen its presence in North America with this agreement.

Zug - Jarowa hat has raised over 12 million Swiss francs in a funding round. The main investor is Eos Venture Partners from London. Jarowa won them over with its platform for damage management in areas such as real estate or mobility.
Californian IT company acquires amazee.io
Zurich/Campbell - The Californian IT company Mirantis is acquiring amazee.io. The startup from the Greater Zurich Area works on open-source solutions to make software developers’ work easier. As a part of Mirantis, amazee.io plans to accelerate its growth.
ETH researchers using seismic waves for ultrasound
Zurich/Lugano - Researchers at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) are using seismology expertise for ultrasound. With this method, the brain could one day be examined with ultrasound. The team are using a supercomputer at the CSCS in Lugano.
VRM and Airbus develop new VR simulator for helicopters
Dübendorf/Marignane - VRM Switzerland in the Greater Zurich Area and Airbus Helicopters are developing the first virtual reality (VR) simulator for H145 helicopters. Around 1,500 such twin-engine five-bladed helicopters are in service worldwide.
US medical association to open regional office at UZH
Zurich/Washington D.C. - The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zurich is to take over the hosting and leadership of the European regional office of the Alliance of Academic Health Centers International (AAHCI). The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and an Italian colleague have both been named as ambassadors.
SIX approves IPO by Chinese firm GEM
Zurich/Shenzhen - The SIX Swiss Exchange has approved an IPO application submitted by the Chinese company GEM. This will be the first time that a company from China can issue global depository receipts for listing on the Swiss stock exchange.
